“Clementines is another of Bruntsfield’s little gems that makes me wish I was a whole lot richer. Another pretty little shop filled with beautiful treats for your home. I would love to decorate my flat using this shop as inspiration as everything is just so darn nice.

They have gorgeous cushions, quilts, teapots, candles, hanging things and ornamental bits and bobs. There is a real rustic, country feel to this shop. Everything seems to come straight from someones summer house in the Hamptons or at the beach. If you like pretty and nice, then you will love Clementines.”

“Clementine is an absolute darling of a store, selling wholesome but classy delights for your home. I am giggling at Amy’s spot-on description that this place would be your first port of call for decorating a summer house in the Hamptons. When I had a look at their brimming shelves, I was also transported ten years into the future, to a house by the beach that I was rich enough to not only own, but to grace with stock from this store. The stripey, pastel coloured cushions would look great on a chair on my fictional patio!

Come to think of it, most of this stock would look fantastic in an airy room with a sea view on a breezy summer’s day. With whimsical toys, lovely plush cushions and some country kitchen inspired gifts, most of the stock is innocent and stylish. A winner with me, I am now inspired to start saving for my dream home, which will include a lot of the stock in here!”

“Nice little gift shop with a distinct yummy mummy kath kitson feel to it. Lots of floral cushions and eiderdowns. Mostly garden, home and lots of kitchen stuff.

I particularly loved the kitchen blackboards in the shape of a gingerbread man, heart, cat or apple that come complete with chalk and duster and fabulously enough even the hooks to hang it on your wall with! But as my husband pointed out our kitchen is tiled so theres not actually anyway to hang them, shame I had 2 in my hand at the time.

Really cute baby clothes and not too expensive, lots of wooden things and garden implements, probably a great place to get a gift for mum.”

CLEMENTINE HOME AND GIFTS, EDINBURGH

While I was away in Edinburgh, I took the opportunity to browse around some of the gorgeous little boutiques the city has to offer. There is a vibrant independent shopping experience to be had in Scotland’s capitol and this week I want to introduce you to some of my favourite boutiques that have made a name for themselves among the throng.

Clementine Home and Gifts is a little gem to be found tucked away in the Bruntsfield area of the city. Here you will find a beautifully curated collection of homeware and gifts that reflect a slightly rustic/”Country Living” feel in the selection on offer. Scottish made items are particularly prominent. I was thrilled to find so many new UK designers I had not discovered before.

Pink Geranium (Edinburgh), oil cloth bags
Sophie Allport fabric accessories
Cloon Keen Candles
Wish Original Doorstops
Hatley Children’s Sleepsuits

This is a boutique that you will always be able to find a unique gift for just about anyone, and visiting it without buying something is virtually impossible. It is crammed full of the most delightful items.”

“I love visiting Clementine! Your shop is always stuffed full of new and exciting goodies. I come down from Beauly to visit the dentist next door to you and always stop by to give myself a little treat. Even makes a trip to the dentist worthwhile!”
